I was asked to review something totally different for me, it is a book based on nutrition and let’s face it, I am not the most nutritious person out there. In fact, it took me several tries to get into this book because I just kept thinking, this is just NOT for me. Am I glad I kept trying. It was informative, humorous and you get a great feel of who the author is as a person. I enjoyed Lynne’s book and how she details ways to increase our energy, better our health and does it all with a smile. This one gets a solid four stars from me!
Lynne was nice enough to sit down and go through my boring questions so we could get to know her better.
LW: Have family members read your book(s)? How do they feel about having an author in the family?
LD: My mom got overjoyed. Out of everyone in the world I wanted my mom’s support and approval. It was really fun to watch her reaction and see how she used social media to share her excitement with the world. She even asked her local library to carry a copy!
LW: Do you have a playlist that goes along with your book? If so, please share! (I’m always looking for new music)
LD: Almost every part of my life has a playlist! While writing the book I listened to a ton of P!nk (Perfect, Glitter, and Raise Your Glass), and MercyMe (I Can Only Imagine). When I needed a break I would go to my local karaoke bar and spend the night laughing and trying to sing almost any song that came my way. Did you notice song titles and lyrics sprinkled throughout the book? (A little Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra?) I love music that inspires me to jump, laugh, and cry too!
LW: What was the greatest thing you learned at school?
LD: The greatest thing I learned at school was to completely take care of myself from the inside out. I am so grateful that I had this experience. It shaped me into a person that I am proud to be, and brought me to a place I had never allowed myself to experience. I am much happier and certainly 100% healthier!
LW: What’s the loveliest thing you have ever seen?
LD: There are so many lovely things in this world to choose from that I find joy seeking out daily. One small but significant thing for me is that I keep flowers by my window. I love the moment when I wake up and the morning sun is shining down on them. I feel instantly happy and excited to start my day. I am so blessed that I was able to figure this out and give this gift to myself over and over everyday.
LW: Tell us your latest news?
LD: This week we are launching my Spring Clean Eating Program (www.CleanEatingPrograms.com) where my team and I will teach our clients our healthy lifestyle secrets, as well as how to prepare nutritious recipes using fresh, local, seasonal, and organic foods. Nothing is more rewarding than watching people go through the transformation process, nothing! And Spring is my favorite season. I also was asked to be a blogger at a major publishing house! And Little League starts on Sunday. More to come…
LW: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
LD: You can get healthy and happy. It just takes inspiration and effort. It is possible!
LW: Who designed the cover(s)?
LD: My truly fantastic partner Ali Anne Johnson of All Natural Design. I can’t imagine working on another creative project without her amazing insight and talents. We truly bonded during the designing of “our” book and I am still amazed at how deep our connection became during this process. Ali even lost her grandmother on the day of a crucial deadline but never wavered in her commitment to meet it. I believe her grandmother Pauline made miracles continue to happen for us. I try to never miss an opportunity to thank Ali, tell her how much I love her, and beg her to never leave me.
